who we are

The Eye of the Tiger is a National Rugby Academy (EOTT), a woman-led, skills-based learning institute that recruits talent with passion in rugby from previously disadvantaged communities in South Africa with the main purpose to develop the youngsters form the lowest level to the highest level of play.  The academy was founded 2011 and started its operations in 2012.

It is a Non-Profit organization (NPO).  It recruits boys from the age of U/14 to U/19 from schools. It supports its beneficiaries with bursaries to colleges and universities to further their studies and play rugby at a University level.  Our recruitment is without isolating any racial groupings in order to enhance social cohesion.

It operates at No 59 Frederick Street, Observatory, Johannesburg. It has development sites in four provinces with same training schedule and activities which are Gauteng, Limpopo, Western Cape and Eastern Cape.

Our Objectives

It is an academy system whereby it provides a skills-based learning environment both life and social skills with special training for the advancement of knowledge and expertise in the field of rugby. The main objective is to advance the talent from the lowest level of play to the highest professional and to build leaders of tomorrow.
